Sinks and copper sinks

Now slowly make your cuts accurately. Once the cuts are completed remove the cutout area from the countertop. Now flip your countertop upside down. Using a caulk gun and silicone apply a small amount around the edges of the sink. This will create a watertight seal between the countertop and the sink. One you have completed this stop flip over your sink. Without disturbing the caulk gently put the sink into the cutout area. Be careful as you might end up pinching your fingers in between the countertop and sinks edge. You can use a few pieces of scrap wood around the edges to support the sink until you can remove your fingers or have someone support the sink from underneath it.

Almost all sinks are held in place using special mounting clips. These clips hook on the underside of the lip and can tightened using a screwdriver or a nut driver. After you have tightened the clams as tight as possible you may need to wide off any excess caulk around the top of the sink and the countertop. After this is completed you will need to connect the P-trap. Connect the drainage pipe from the sink to the previous pipe. Hook up the hot and cold supply lines using flexible tubing. Double check all connections to make sure they are as tight as possible. If everything is tightened then simply turn your water supply on and cross your fingers. If done correctly you shouldn’t have any leaks.
