The most important thing for your new sugar glider is hydration. One of the leading causes of death of young sugar gliders is dehydration. In order to remedy this problem, have a mixture of Gatorade or apple juice and water available. Do not get discouraged if your sugar glider does not take to the bottle immediately for the first few days - he will get most of his hydration from the slices of apple in his cage. So make sure your sugar glider has plenty of slices in his cage and in his blanket pouch. Just make sure you rub his nose on his bottle so he knows where his water is when he wants it.

An easy fix is to give them peach syrup from canned peaches. You do not need a lot - just a few drops. This will clear up the diarrhea in a couple of days. However, to be sure your sugar glider takes to the bottle; make sure you rub his nose on the tip every time you are finished handling him.
