Sachs and Brand’s DVD’s in Demand
Sachs and Brand’s DVD’s in demand
It seems that whenever a celebrity hits the headlines in a big way, the public all of sudden have a hunger for any material that is available about them. One of the UK’s top DVD rental company LoveFilm are reporting increases in the demand for copies of the Fawlty Towers comedy series (starring Andrew Sachs) and for anything that has Russell Brand in.
They say that there is no such thing as bad publicity, and this would appear to be true in this case. The total number of rentals of Fawlty Towers are already up by two per cent; however the winner has to be Russell Brand, as the demand for his material has increased by a massive one hundred and thirty three per cent.
Fliss White, head of LoveFilm brand marketing, said: “Whatever our comics get up to, it seems that any publicity is ultimately good publicity, with the recent controversial phone calls sparking an unexpected demand amongst UK comedy fans for both Sachs’s and Brand’s back catalogue.”
So as the fallout from this huge media circus is still settling down, the people involved in the whole episode appear to be cashing in on all this extra publicity.
